Under the strategic and operational leadership of JAG WFS Vice-President, Thomas Shoup, a remarkably skilled specialty welder and experienced Project Manager, JAG Welding Fab and Services is expanding the impact of the JAG Mission through direct shipyard services. He is responsible for the technical knowledge being actively implemented across JAG Welding, Fab & Services’ day to day operations.
For Shoup, JAG represented a vision he shared to provide a better option for specialty welding, fabrication and other key shipyard services to the growing Navy Ship Repair community. Integrity and quality provided in an affordable and efficient manner is his key focus. Through years of quality service, Shoup’s work ethic and exceptional capability have been repeatedly proven to the Navy and it’s Contractors.

JAG Welding, Fab & Services (JAG WFS) is a specialty welding and fabrication company provide direct services to shipyards for large commercial, Navy and other government shipbuilding and marine repair contracts. In 2018, JAG executives seized another vital opportunity and was awarded stewardship of the 11-acre Seward Shipyard and synchrolift facility in Seward, Alaska. The Seward Shipyard is the second largest shipyard north of Seattle and serves a highly diversified Alaskan fleet, including commercial shipping vessels, fishing vessels, oil and gas industry ships, Alaskan ferries, regional Coast Guard and Navy ships.

In 2021, JAG Alaska Inc., Seward Shipyard crews broke records for the largest barge ever to be hauled onto Alaskan soil for repairs, the Columbia Boston, proving the ingenuity and determination that is characteristic of the JAG Marine Group.
